Print and News Organizations

The organizations that gather, publish and distribute news and print media, grouped together because the atlas's own current holdings in each of the wire-service, newspaper, magazine and comics-publishing kinds are not yet numerous enough on their own to warrant separate groups; a future wave that grows any one kind past today's size should revisit it. Belongs here: wire services such as the Associated Press and Reuters, newspapers such as The New York Times and The Washington Post, a magazine publisher such as Time Inc., and a comics publisher such as DC Comics. Does not belong here: broadcast news organizations, grouped under broadcasters, or the works these organizations publish, which belong to the work type.
