James Bond

James Bond is a British spy franchise centered on a fictional Secret Intelligence Service officer created by the novelist Ian Fleming, who introduced the character in his 1953 novel Casino Royale. Eon Productions has produced the official film series since Dr. No in 1962, with the role of Bond played across the decades by Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, making it one of the longest continuously running film franchises in history. The films, built around Bond's missions against criminal organizations and enemy agents, are known for their pre title action sequences, exotic locations, gadgets supplied by the character Q, and recurring elements including Bond's preference that his martini be shaken, not stirred. Beyond Fleming's sixteen novels and continuation novels by later authors, the franchise has produced twenty five Eon films grossing several billion dollars combined and has left a lasting influence on the spy genre across film and television worldwide.
