Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park is an American science fiction franchise based on Michael Crichton's 1990 novel of the same name, adapted for film by Steven Spielberg in 1993 as the first installment of what became a six film series spanning the original Jurassic Park trilogy and the later Jurassic World trilogy. The story follows the disastrous reopening of a theme park populated by dinosaurs cloned from ancient DNA, exploring themes of genetic engineering, corporate ambition and the limits of controlling nature, and its original film's photorealistic computer generated dinosaurs, combined with practical animatronics, marked a turning point in visual effects filmmaking. The franchise has grossed more than six billion dollars worldwide across its six films, and has expanded into novels, theme park attractions, video games, an animated series and extensive merchandise, with John Williams's theme music for the franchise becoming one of the most recognized pieces of film scoring in modern cinema.
