The Oprah Winfrey Show is an American syndicated daytime talk show hosted by Oprah Winfrey that aired for twenty-five seasons from September 8, 1986, to May 25, 2011, broadcasting 4,561 episodes produced from Harpo Studios in Chicago. It combined interviews, book club selections, self-improvement segments and coverage of philanthropic and world events, and remains the highest-rated daytime talk show in American television history. The program received 47 Daytime Emmy Awards before Winfrey withdrew it from further submissions in 2000, and it was later ranked among the greatest television shows of all time by both TV Guide and Variety.
