Barton Fink

Barton Fink is a 1991 American film written, produced, edited and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, set in 1941 Hollywood and starring John Turturro as a young New York playwright hired to write for a movie studio, alongside John Goodman as his mysterious neighbor Charlie Meadows. The Coens wrote the script in three weeks during a break from their other project, Millers Crossing. The film premiered at the 1991 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Palme dOr along with the awards for Best Director and Best Actor, a rare sweep of the festivals top honors, though it performed modestly at the box office.
