Toy Story

Toy Story is an American animated franchise from Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, begun with the 1995 film Toy Story, the first entirely computer animated feature film, directed by John Lasseter. The series follows a group of toys, led by the cowboy doll Woody and the space ranger action figure Buzz Lightyear, who come to life when humans are not present, across four main films released between 1995 and 2019 that explore themes of belonging, obsolescence and the passage of childhood as their owner Andy, and later a new child named Bonnie, grow up. The franchise expanded into television specials, short films, the spin off feature Lightyear, video games, a stage show and an extensive line of merchandise, and its films collectively rank among the highest grossing animated franchises ever made, with Toy Story 3 becoming, at its 2010 release, the first animated film to gross more than a billion dollars worldwide.
