The Conjuring Universe is an American horror media franchise and shared universe produced by New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster and the Safran Company, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, centered on a series of supernatural horror films. The films dramatize the purported real-life cases of Ed and Lorraine Warren, paranormal investigators and authors associated with several prominent yet controversial claims of hauntings, with the main series following their efforts to help people they believe are being tormented by spirits. Spin-off films within the same shared universe instead trace the origins of specific entities the Warrens are said to have encountered.
