Ice Age is an American media franchise built on the animated film series conceived by Michael J. Wilson and originally produced by Blue Sky Studios, a subsidiary of 20th Century Fox Animation, whose first film was released on March 15, 2002. The series follows a group of prehistoric animals, including a woolly mammoth, a saber-toothed tiger, and a ground sloth, through the Pleistocene ice age, and has grown to five theatrical films in its main line plus the spin-off film The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild in 2022, along with short films, television specials such as Ice Age: Scrat Tales, and video games. A sixth film, Ice Age: Boiling Point, is in production for a February 2027 release.
