Evan Williams is an American internet entrepreneur who co-founded Pyra Labs, the company behind Blogger, one of the earliest and most widely used blog-publishing platforms, launched in 1999 and later acquired by Google, which helped popularize blogging as a mainstream form of personal and independent media publishing. Williams later co-founded Twitter, launched in 2006, a short-message social media platform that became a major venue for real-time news and public commentary and was later renamed X. He subsequently founded Medium, a publishing platform aimed at longer-form written media and journalism.
