Charles Schulz

Charles Schulz was an American cartoonist who created Peanuts, a daily comic strip that debuted in 1950 and continued in original production for nearly fifty years, featuring the boy Charlie Brown, his dog Snoopy and a recurring cast of other child characters. Peanuts became one of the most widely syndicated and commercially successful comic strips in history, running in newspapers around the world and spawning numerous television specials, including A Charlie Brown Christmas, as well as extensive licensed merchandise. Schulz wrote and drew nearly the entire run of the strip himself, an unusually sustained single-creator control uncommon for a strip of its scale and longevity.
