Paris Is Burning

Paris Is Burning is a 1990 American documentary directed by Jennie Livingston, filmed largely during the mid to late 1980s, documenting the Harlem ball culture of that era's African American and Latino gay and transgender communities, including the drag balls and the ballroom houses that structured the scene. The film is widely credited with bringing sustained public and scholarly attention to ballroom culture, and terminology and practices it documented, including voguing, later entered wider popular culture.
