Timelapse of the Future

Timelapse of the Future: A Journey to the End of Time is a 2019 short documentary by musician and filmmaker John D. Boswell, released on YouTube in March 2020. Running about twenty nine minutes, it uses a flowmotion technique that steadily accelerates its own timescale to visualize events from the near future, such as the colonization of Mars, through the death of the Sun and on to the eventual heat death of the universe, combining Boswell's own animation with narration from scientists including David Attenborough, Brian Cox and Neil deGrasse Tyson. The film became a viral hit and won a Webby Award in the Science and Education category.
