Life Itself (2014 film)

Life Itself is a 2014 documentary directed by Steve James, based on the 2011 memoir of the same name by Chicago film critic Roger Ebert. The film follows Ebert's life and career alongside his final months, made with his participation before his death in April 2013 and completed afterward with support from an Indiegogo campaign that raised more than 150,000 dollars. It premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, was an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival, and was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
