Butterflies is a 2009 American documentary directed by Czech filmmaker Ester Brymova, running seventy-two minutes. Described as the first feature-length film to explore the lives of viral video stars, it profiles internet personalities and celebrities including Lucas Cruikshank, Philip DeFranco, KevJumba, Olga Kay, Charles Trippy, Joe Satriani, Katy Perry and Chad Hurley. It was also one of the first independent films launched for rental directly on YouTube, and won the Alan J. Bailey Excellence Award in Documentary Filmmaking at the 2009 Action on Film International Film Festival in Pasadena.
