Zero Chou

Zero Chou (born 24 July 1969 in Keelung, Taiwan) is a Taiwanese film director and screenwriter regarded as one of the most notable documentary directors working in Taiwan. She directed the feature films Spider Lilies in 2007, which won the Teddy Award for Best Feature Film at the Berlin International Film Festival, Drifting Flowers in 2008 and Ripples of Desire in 2012, along with the documentary Father in the Blacklist in 2004 and other documentary work through the 1990s and 2000s. Her film Splendid Float won three Golden Horse Awards including Best Taiwanese Film of the Year. Chou is one of the few openly lesbian filmmakers with international recognition and has worked on the Six Asian Cities Rainbow Project, a documentary series exploring LGBT themes across Asia.
