Maher Sabry (born 11 April 1967) is an Egyptian theater director, playwright, film director, producer, screenwriter, poet, writer and cartoonist. He was a pioneering gay activist and the first director to portray gay and lesbian love in a lyrical and sympathetic manner on the Egyptian stage. Sabry also directed the first award winning all gay Egyptian film, All My Life, released in 2008, work that made him a significant figure in the history of LGBT representation in Middle Eastern theater and cinema.
