Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson is a filmmaker from New Zealand, born in 1961, who works as a director, screenwriter, producer, and visual effects pioneer, and ranks as the fifth highest grossing film director in history. His best known work is The Lord of the Rings trilogy, adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's novels, for which The Return of the King won him the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. He also directed The Hobbit trilogy, Heavenly Creatures, The Frighteners, and King Kong, and later made the documentaries They Shall Not Grow Old and The Beatles: Get Back, the latter earning five Primetime Emmy Awards. His films have collectively grossed more than 6.5 billion dollars worldwide.
