Hulu is an American internet streaming service announced in March 2007 as a joint venture between NBC Universal and News Corporation, with a 100 million dollar investment from Providence Equity Partners. It launched in private beta in October 2007 and opened to the public in March 2008, later drawing additional investment from Disney, through its ABC subsidiary, and from Time Warner. Hulu is now an American subscription streaming media service owned by Disney Streaming, part of the Walt Disney Company Disney Entertainment segment.
