Jack Kirby

Jack Kirby was an American comic book artist and writer whose dynamic, kinetic visual style shaped the look of American superhero comics across several decades. With writer-editor Stan Lee at Marvel Comics in the 1960s, Kirby co-created or co-designed many of the company's major characters and teams, including the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Hulk and Thor, and earlier in his career he co-created Captain America with Joe Simon in 1941. Kirby later worked extensively for DC Comics, where he created the interconnected Fourth World titles including New Gods, and he remains widely regarded as one of the most influential visual storytellers in the history of American comics.
