The Prince of Egypt

The Prince of Egypt is a 1998 American animated musical film produced by DreamWorks Animation, directed by Brenda Chapman, Steve Hickner and Simon Wells, retelling the biblical account of Moses from his upbringing in the Egyptian royal household through the Exodus of the Israelites. It was DreamWorks Animation's first traditionally animated feature and one of the first major American animated films built around a large-scale biblical narrative for a general theatrical audience rather than a specifically religious one. The Prince of Egypt is widely regarded within the animation industry as a demonstration that a traditionally animated studio feature could address serious religious and historical subject matter at a large scale.
