Kwentong Jollibee

World and International Narrative Cinema

Kwentong Jollibee is a series of Filipino short films produced by the advertising agency McCann Philippines for the fast-food chain Jollibee, running from its first episodes on February 19, 2016 through its conclusion in May 2024. Each five-minute film, framed as inspired by a true story, tells an emotional story of everyday Filipino life tied to occasions such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or Christmas rather than promoting the brand's products directly, and was released through Facebook and the Jollibee Studios YouTube channel. Individual episodes, including the widely viewed 2017 film Crush, ranked among the Philippines' most-watched YouTube videos and won gold at the 2018 APAC Effie Awards and platinum at the Anvil Awards, making Jollibee the only Philippine brand named to Branding Asia's World's Top 50 Ads List of 2017.
