There Is No Evil is a 2020 Persian language drama directed by Mohammad Rasoulof, an Iranian production made with Germany and the Czech Republic, told across four separate episodes that examine capital punishment in Iran and the moral weight it places on those who carry it out. Rasoulof was banned from filming in Iran and made the film in secret. It won the Golden Bear at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival while he faced imprisonment and travel restrictions from Iranian authorities that kept him from attending.
