Anatomy of a Fall

Anatomy of a Fall, released in French as Anatomie d'une chute, is a 2023 French legal drama directed by Justine Triet, starring Sandra Huller. The film centers on novelist Sandra Voyter, who is accused of murdering her husband after he dies in a fall at their mountain home near Grenoble, and unfolds largely as a courtroom drama that leaves ambiguous whether his death was murder, suicide or accident while dissecting the couple's troubled marriage. It won the Palme d'Or at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in 2023, becoming the third film directed by a woman to win the award, and went on to win six prizes at the Cesar Awards including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress for Huller. At the 96th Academy Awards it received five nominations and won Best Original Screenplay, and in France it sold more than 1.9 million admissions.
