L'Enfant (film)

L'Enfant is a 2005 Belgian film directed by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. It follows Bruno and Sonia, a young couple living in poverty, after Bruno sells their newborn baby to a black market adoption ring for quick cash, a decision that horrifies Sonia and sends Bruno into mounting debt and desperation as he tries to buy the child back. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival, the Dardenne brothers' second win after Rosetta in 1999.
