Drive My Car (2021 film)

Drive My Car is a 2021 Japanese drama directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, adapting a Haruki Murakami short story about a theater director who, while grieving his wife's death, stages a multilingual production of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya in Hiroshima and forms a quiet bond with the young woman assigned to drive him. It won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film and the Best Screenplay award at Cannes, and became the first Japanese film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture.
