The Story of Qiu Ju is a 1992 Chinese comedy drama directed by Zhang Yimou and starring Gong Li. It follows a peasant woman who travels from her rural village to a provincial capital and then a major city, pursuing justice through the bureaucratic system after her husband is severely beaten by the village leader. The screenplay adapts Chen Yuanbin's novella The Wan Family's Lawsuit.
