La Notte is a 1961 Italian drama film co-written and directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, starring Marcello Mastroianni, Jeanne Moreau and Monica Vitti. Filmed on location in Milan, it follows a single day and night in the lives of a disillusioned novelist and his alienated wife as they move through different social circles, continuing Antonionis approach of favoring visual composition and mood over traditional storytelling. The film won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1961.
