Ordet

Ordet is a 1955 Danish film directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer, set on a rural farm in 1925. It follows the devout widower Morten Borgen and his three sons, one of whom believes himself to be Jesus Christ, and centers on the death of a daughter-in-law in childbirth and the seemingly miraculous resurrection that follows. It won the Golden Lion at the 1955 Venice Film Festival and is regarded as the only film by Dreyer to achieve both critical and commercial success.
