The Canterbury Tales is a 1972 Italian anthology film written and directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini, the second entry in his Trilogy of Life, adapting Geoffrey Chaucer's medieval poem for the screen. It dramatizes eight of Chaucer's tales with substantial additions of its own, shot in England with a cast led by Hugh Griffith and Josephine Chaplin. The film won the Golden Bear at the 22nd Berlin International Film Festival.
