Alphaville is a 1965 French New Wave film written and directed by Jean-Luc Godard, starring Eddie Constantine, Anna Karina and Akim Tamiroff. Blending dystopian science fiction with film noir, it was shot entirely in real Paris locations rather than futuristic sets, using the citys modernist glass and concrete buildings to stand in for a future city. The film won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1965.
