Triangle of Sadness

Triangle of Sadness is a 2022 satirical black comedy written and directed by Ruben Ostlund, a co-production of Sweden, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. It follows a celebrity couple aboard a luxury cruise for the ultra-wealthy that sinks after a pirate attack, stranding survivors on an island where the social hierarchy is inverted and a resourceful member of the ship's cleaning staff gains power over the helpless passengers. The film won the Palme d'Or at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and received three Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, at the 95th Oscars. Critics praised its satire of wealth and class, and it grossed more than thirty two million dollars worldwide.
