Intimacy is a 2001 drama directed by Patrice Chereau, a France-United Kingdom-Germany-Italy co-production starring Mark Rylance and Kerry Fox. It follows Jay, a London bartender, and his weekly anonymous sexual encounters with a woman he does not know, whose identity and married family life he uncovers as he grows emotionally attached to her. Intimacy won the Golden Bear for best film at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2001, where Fox also won the Silver Bear for best actress.
