The Return is a 2003 Russian coming of age drama directed by Andrey Zvyagintsev. It follows two brothers, Ivan and Andrei, whose father suddenly returns home after twelve years of absence and takes them on what appears to be a simple fishing trip to a remote island, a trip that becomes an increasingly tense test of survival and family bonds. The film premiered in Russia on October 16, 2003, and won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
