Grbavica is a 2006 film directed by Jasmila Zbanic, a Bosnia and Herzegovina-Austria-Croatia-Germany co-production shot in Bosnian. Set in postwar Sarajevo, it follows a single mother, Esma, and her twelve year old daughter Sara as a long hidden secret tied to the systematic wartime rape of Bosniak women comes to the surface. The film won the Golden Bear for best film at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2006.
