Was Rang De Basanti ever planned in English?
An English version titled Paint it Yellow was planned but dropped during development.
Yes. Early in development the plan was to make language versions at the same time, one in English under the title Paint it Yellow and one in Hindi. The English version was dropped during development, because director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra believed an English-language version felt alien and that one can tell a film in just one language.
