From Reverence to Rape: The Treatment of Women in the Movies is a 1974 book by the feminist film critic Molly Haskell. It was one of the first books to chronicle and analyze the image of woman in film, comparing screen depictions of women to the lives of real women to judge how accurately Hollywood represented them. Alongside Marjorie Rosen's Popcorn Venus and Joan Mellen's Women and Their Sexuality in the New Film, it became one of the defining works of second-wave feminist film history.
