Lunch Atop a Skyscraper is a photograph taken in 1932 during construction of the RCA Building at Rockefeller Center in New York City, showing eleven ironworkers seated in a row on a steel beam far above the street, eating lunch with no visible safety equipment. The photograph's exact authorship has never been definitively established, having been credited at various times to more than one photographer present on the promotional assignment that produced it. It remains one of the most widely reproduced images associated with the American skyscraper construction era of the early twentieth century.
