Robert Capa

Journalists and Broadcasters

Robert Capa, born Endre Erno Friedmann on October 22, 1913 and died on May 25, 1954, was a Hungarian-American war photographer and photojournalist. He is considered by some to be the greatest combat and adventure photographer in history. Friedmann fled political repression in Hungary as a teenager, moved to Berlin, where he enrolled in college, and witnessed Adolf Hitler's rise to power, which led him to move to Paris. There he met and began to work with his professional partner Gerda Taro, and they began to publish their work separately.
