Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, born in Delhi on 7 July 1963, is an Indian film director, occasional actor and screenwriter who has been active since 1986. He is best known for writing and directing the drama Rang De Basanti in 2006 and the biographical sports film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in 2013, winning two Filmfare Awards for Best Director.
