George Melford

Directors and Filmmakers

George H. Melford, born George Henry Knauff, was an American stage and film actor and director who lived from 19 February 1877 to 25 April 1961. Often taken for granted as a director today, he was by the 1920s a name that, like Cecil B. DeMille's, appeared in big bold letters above the title of his films. He directed the Spanish-language version of Dracula made in 1931 alongside the English-language version, and it is listed here as a work.
