Franklin Robbins (September 9, 1917 to November 28, 1994) was an American comic book and comic strip artist and writer, and also a prominent painter whose work appeared in museums including the Whitney Museum of American Art, where one of his paintings was featured in the 1955 Whitney Annual Exhibition of American Painting. The atlas records him among the writers who have worked on the Detective Comics series that began with issue #27, so that the writers of a landmark comic are traceable from the work itself.
