Basil Wright, whose full name is Basil Charles Wright, was an English documentary filmmaker, film historian, film critic and teacher who lived from 12 June 1907 to 14 October 1987. He co-directed the documentary Night Mail with Harry Watt, a film of the British documentary movement of the 1930s that is listed here as a work, and his career joined film making with teaching and writing about the history of the medium.
