Anne Hummert, born Anne Schumacher, lived from 19 January 1905 to 5 July 1996 and was the leading co-creator of daytime radio serials, or soap opera dramas, during the 1930s and 1940s. She was responsible for more than three dozen series, working with her husband Frank Hummert. Her serials defined the daytime soap opera on American radio, and Ma Perkins is listed here among the works credited to the Hummerts.
