Gloria is a 1980 American neo-noir crime thriller written and directed by John Cassavetes and produced by Columbia Pictures. Gena Rowlands stars as Gloria Swenson, a former mobster's girlfriend who becomes the reluctant protector of a young boy, played by John Adames, after his family is killed by the mob that wants him dead, and the two flee across New York City. The film won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, tied with Atlantic City, and Rowlands received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
