Aliens (1986 film)

Aliens is a 1986 science fiction action film written and directed by James Cameron, serving as the sequel to the 1979 film Alien and the second installment in the Alien franchise. Set in the distant future, it follows Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver, the sole survivor of an alien attack on her vessel, who returns to the moon where her crew first encountered the extraterrestrial creatures after contact is lost with a human colony there, this time accompanied by a unit of Colonial Marines. The supporting cast includes Michael Biehn, Paul Reiser, Lance Henriksen and Carrie Henn. Production was contentious, marked by friction between Cameron and the British crew at Pinewood Studios, and composer James Horner completed the score under severe time constraints.
