American silent feature films of the 1920s in the dramatic, romantic, war and adventure modes, from the war drama Wings and The Big Parade to the swashbucklers of Douglas Fairbanks and the melodramas of Hollywood studios. A work belongs here when its article calls it an American silent drama, romance or adventure film. It excludes comedies, epics, horror films and the earlier films of 1913 to 1919. Works are placed by what their cited article states about their country, form and period, and each work sits in exactly one group of this subcategory, so a film that fits two traditions goes where its article places it first.
