Early American Feature Films, 1913 to 1919

The first American feature-length films, made between 1913 and 1919, when Hollywood moved from one-reel shorts to multi-reel features with long-form storytelling, from the social melodrama Traffic in Souls to D. W. Griffith's Judith of Bethulia, The Birth of a Nation, Intolerance and Broken Blossoms. A work belongs here when its article places it in these years. It excludes the later silent dramas of the 1920s. Works are placed by what their cited article states about their country, form and period, and each work sits in exactly one group of this subcategory, so a film that fits two traditions goes where its article places it first.
