Pirjo Honkasalo, born 22 February 1947, is a Finnish film director who has also worked as a cinematographer, film editor, producer, screenwriter and actress across a career beginning in 1970. Her 1980 co-directed film Flame Top was selected for the Cannes Film Festival, an early marker of international recognition, and her 2013 film Concrete Night won six Jussi Awards, Finland's national film awards, including Best Direction and Best Film. Honkasalo's work across multiple crafts, not only directing but also cinematography and editing, is unusual among feature directors and reflects a hands-on approach to the full filmmaking process.
