The Falcon is an American radio detective drama series adapted from the character created by writer Michael Arlen and already established in a series of Hollywood films, airing in various network runs through the 1940s and early 1950s under the title The Adventures of the Falcon. It followed suave amateur detective Gay Laurence, known as the Falcon, as he solved crimes while navigating trouble with the police and a string of romantic entanglements, in the light, wisecracking style common to radio detective series of the period. It is remembered by radio historians as one of the more durable detective character franchises to move successfully between film and network radio.
