Take It From Here is a BBC radio comedy series written by Frank Muir and Denis Norden that ran from 1948 to 1960, starring Jimmy Edwards, Dick Bentley and June Whitfield in a mix of sketches and, in its later years, a recurring serialized segment called The Glums, which parodied a hapless working-class engaged couple and their overbearing father. Regarded by broadcast historians as one of the sharpest-written British radio comedies of its era, it helped establish the careers of its performers and writers, several of whom went on to prominent later work in British television comedy. The Glums segment in particular is often cited as a forerunner of later British sitcom styles built around a single recurring domestic situation.
